Building on the same philosophy that inspired Empower Thru Music™, Empower Thru Media™ gives students another way to discover and express their creativity—through podcasting, interviewing, journalism, and storytelling.

Designed for middle and high school students, the program takes them through the process of creating their school's own podcast. Students learn how to develop ideas, research topics, conduct interviews, write and edit stories, record and produce episodes, and publish professional-quality work.

Along the way, they strengthen literacy, communication, leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, and digital media skills—while learning something equally important: how to ask thoughtful questions and really listen to the answers.

And the podcast becomes more than a class project. Students can interview teachers, coaches, alumni, artists, community leaders, and one another; cover concerts, sporting events, performances, science fairs, and school celebrations; and begin building a growing library that preserves the voices, experiences, traditions, and stories of their school community for generations to come.

Empower Thru Media™ can be offered during the school day or as an after-school enrichment program and is designed to grow with the school from year to year.
