At Empower Thru Music, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to discover their unique voice through music.

Through engaging, interactive experiences, we help students explore their potential while developing skills that extend far beyond the music classroom.

Our mission is to make high-quality music enrichment accessible to all young people, regardless of their background, experience, or circumstance. By partnering with schools, libraries, camps, community organizations, and families, we create opportunities for students to experience the joy of music while strengthening critical life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, self-expression, and perseverance.

We believe that every child has something valuable to contribute. Sometimes that contribution begins with a single rhythm, a simple melody, or the confidence to share an idea. When young people can create, collaborate, and express themselves through music, they discover strengths they never knew they had.

David C. Gross is an educator, author, performer, and Teaching Artist with a lifelong passion for helping students discover their potential through music.

Over the course of his career, David has authored 19 instructional books, produced multiple educational videos, hosted both a radio show and a podcast featuring conversations with notable artists, and performed with musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds. He recently released his first children’s book about music.

Most importantly, he has spent more than two decades bringing music directly into schools, developing and teaching programs that have inspired thousands of students throughout New York City.

David believes that music education should be accessible, engaging, and transformative. His programs combine creativity, cultural exploration, hands-on participation, and real-world musical experiences that help students build confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and self-expression.
